It's always interesting once and a while to see where other people get their inspiration and entertainment from. So, in a day of relatively slow search news, I thought I'd give you some insight into the sites I visit on a regular basis - hence the link dump soup (which, by the way, would make a cool keyword to rank #1 for), in no particular popularity order.
In terms of industry types, it's a relatively small list that I'd like to expand (suggestions very welcome). Currently, my regular reads include Danny Sullivan (not a huge surprise, eh?), John Battelle, Andrew Goodman's Traffick, Fred Wilson (I wish I had known who he was back in 2000 at a visiting day picnic in the Catskills), Seth Godin, Andrew Girdwood (met at SES NYC last year and still haven't managed to get a pint in in the country we both live in), Tamar Weinberg, Kate Morris, Barry Schwartz (who also makes great iPhone Apps), Ari Herzog and the good folks over at Search Marketing Gurus and PPC Hero.
I stumble on to other sites from time to time, but it's usually just that. The people whose blogs I visit on a regular basis update their blogs on a regular basis (providing me with an incentive to visit), something I've actively been trying to do in December. The reason that I keep coming back to my regular reads is because they not only provide interesting content, but real and valuable insight from different angles in the industry (or the wider world). Learning from those people helps me concentrate on the type of blog I want to put out there, as well as the amount and variety of information I want to share. So, it's a bit of link dump soup mixed with a healthy amount of gushy thank yous to those of you who have been and continue to be incredibly helpful along my SEM journey.
Cheers, guys.
